The following are the trails we currently maintain.

Trail Specific details:

Arden-Surebridge: Equilateral triangle, 1- 1/4″ each side, centered on the white 2×3, installed with one point vertically downward.

Beech Trail: Plain blue 2×3 blaze with a large black B painted on those at trail heads or where crossing trails may cause confusion.

Hurst Trail: Plain blue 2X3 blaze

Lichen: Every blaze for Lichen should be a Blue L on a white 2X3 background. The L should be approximately 1.25 long vertically, and 1″ horizontally, each leg a quarter inch wide.

Nurian Trail:  Plain white 2×3 with a large black N painted (or of reflective material) on those at trail heads and trail crossings.

Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail: Plain white 2×3 with a 1″ diameter red disc centered on it.

Red Cross Trail” 2×3 plain white with a red cross centered on it. The red cross has cross bars 1 3/4″ long and 1/2″ wide.  The cross is symmetrical like a plus sign, not a religious cross. Preferably the cross is cut out as one piece rather than two separate red bars: such a design has not been tested.

Bottle Cap (unofficial) has no standards.

All tags or painted blazes except the Long Path are 2″ x 3″ vertical rectangles.  The Long Path is aqua, 2″ x 4″ vertical rectangles and it also has some square printed tags.

All tags should be of 3M reflective material on aluminum backing.

For painted blazes the colors are defined on the Trail Conference Web site.

But we should be now using only the reflective blazes as desired by the park for search and rescue operations. The specific colors are then those available from 3M, but if their are choices the tags previously provided should be matched.

The superfixes are also cut from the reflective materials.
