Swim Area is Closed for 2018 Season — 1 Comment

  1. I’d like to say that I’m rather disappointed that the swim area was closed so early. There are usually a few isolated very warm days in the fall (such as today, October 7) when swimming would be an option – possibly with a shorty wet suit or possibly even without, being as the temperatures are high 70’s – low 80’s. I know these are fluke, isolated days, but it would be nice to keep the option of a last swim before winter open for those instances. I do understand the concern about the risks of cold water swimming. Maybe there should be a rule based on water temperature or air/water temperature? But it would be nice to have the option of a short dip on days like today. I would have gone up to the club today, if that were the case. But, given that the swim area was closed, I didn’t go up. Just saying…. I imagine I’m not alone in feeling this way.
