Our camp pellet furnace has been burning a lot of fuel lately and the room blower has not been working properly. Replacement parts are on order that will hopefully correct the issue and they will be installed as soon as they arrive.
Please remember before starting the furnace clean out the burn pot and empty the ash can. Never empty the ash can at the end of the weekend, hot embers may still exist in the can that could cause a fire.
In extremely cold weather the furnace may smoke a little in the basement when first starting up. This is from the cold air pushing down the chimney. It will stop when the furnace sends warm air up the chimney.
We are going to look into installing new furnace in the future. Ours is no longer produced and is nearing its end of life.
If you can recommend a heating company in the Sloatsburg area that you have used and trust, please contact me with their name. I’ll contact them in the early spring to give us a quote on a new heater.
As always if you notice anything in the lodge that doesn’t seem to be working correctly, contact the camp committee so that repairs can be scheduled, email is Camp@thendaramountainclub.comÂ
