On Saturday Sept 16, 2017 before the annual picnic a group of volunteers worked at the boathouse clearing away the old lumber left from prior dock repairs. The volunteers filled the boats and created a barge to tow the garbage to Day Camp in the Park across the lake near the dam. The siding and roofing on the boathouse passed the asbestos testing as not hazardous. We removed the siding and floated it to Day Camp in preparation of staining the building. Many thanks to the park workers who agreed to truck the wood to the dumpster from Day Camp. I can’t even imagine carrying all that scrap lumber up our hill!
There is a much smaller pile of wood left at the boathouse that was removed on Thursday Sept 21, 2017
Thank you to the volunteers who worked at the boathouse. Werner Heck, Kevin Broderick, Karen Close, Richard Renert, Steve Adams, guest Helen Wolf and of course Van Caliandro for sweeping the dock after we were done.
